Interiors News 2023: Aretha Collection, design by Monica Armani. Baia, Baltea, Cosmo and Rohe Collections, design by Marco Zito. Loop Collection design by Victor Vasilev.
ARETHA COLLECTION DESIGNED BY MONICA ARMANI
Large volumes in natural materials delineate the Aretha collection designed by Monica Armani for Bross. It includes a chair, a dining armchair, a comfortable lounge in two versions, a stool, dining tables, bistro tables and coffee tables that share a ‘soft curves’ aesthetic, with thick and soft, enveloping and contemporary features.
In the seats, the shell offers modelled and ergonomic shapes that are created by the meeting of the upholstered portion, covered in fabric or leather, and the slightly inclined legs, in natural, stained or matt lacquered solid wood: the image is comfortable, almost
archetypal, perfect in its proportions. In the models with armrests, the backrest seems to fold back to conceal the upper part of the structure that is inserted into it, with meticulous attention to detail, and thus doubles its thickness, for a full and harmonious effect, the symbol of this product family. The tubular wood therefore also returns in the coffee tables and bistro tables, at different heights and sizes, associated with a slightly flared plinth, proposed in various types of natural stone of regional Italian origin and a top, coordinated with the base, in full-body ceramic material or wood.
The icon of the collection is the dining table, which synthesises all the formal and material elements of Aretha in a play of shapes, overlaps and joints. It has a central, truncated cone-shaped base with a metal core and a double covering: in the lower part, the plinth can be customised in natural wood essence, stained or matt lacquered, or even in natural stone, while the upper, tapered portion is covered in technical fabric that designs three elegant vertical stitches. Its top is circular and has two possible diameters, with a refined rounded edge: it can be customised in ceramic or wood and builds the material crowning of a project developed on a sequence of layers, resulting in a refined design dedicated to living or working environments.
BAIA ARMCHAIR COLLECTION DESIGNED BY MARCO ZITO
The Baia armchair collection presents a curved and enveloping shape that offers a high level of comfort. Designed by Marco Zito for Bross, it is characterized by solid wood legs with a circular section, which extend vertically on the back and front, where they define the armrests, offering a detail of proportion and elegance. The shell is composed of a soft seat and a seatback that continues on both sides at the same height, for an ergonomic result, accentuated by the particular padding technique. The padding is modeled according to different rules – horizontally or vertically – in the two versions envisaged by the product family, with a wave effect of different thicknesses that create a pleasant decorative effect. The back presents a shell upholstery with smooth finish and visible seams in the upper profile that recall Bross’ handcrafted approach. Baia may be customized in leather or fabric and the structure can be selected in different varieties of wood, with natural or lacquered finish for a tone-on-tone result.
BALTEA COLLECTION DESIGNED BY MARCO ZITO
Structure and shell intersect according to a game of soft and enveloping lines in the Baltea collection, designed by Marco Zito for Bross. The family includes a dining armchair and a lounge with a four-legged base made of metal tubular, with a black, brushed bronze or customizable nuance, also for a tone-on-tone effect with the upholstery. In the chair version, the tubular is used to enhance the curvature of the seat cushion and create a sort of buttonhole on both sides, which defines the product identity and suggests the idea of a functional armrest. The same concave shape is also found in the armchair, but lacking of the opening detail: instead, it is accompanied by an additional cushion that overlaps the shell, both in the seat and in the backseat, with an ergonomic and decorative effect. Perfect for residential, hospitality or office use, Baltea is available in a wide range of upholsteries, in fabric or leather.
ROHE DESK DESIGNED BY MARCO ZITO
A grid of vertical and horizontal signs draws Rohe, the desk designed by Marco Zito for Bross, which offers in a furnishing product the essential and geometric lines of modernist architecture. The structure is made of metal tubulars, available in lacquered or brushed bronze finish: in addition to fulfilling the function of supporting the stained or lacquered ash top, embedded in the profiles, and the lower central drawer, with a smaller size than the top, it can extend vertically to accommodate the accessories available for this collection. In fact, the metal tubular can be integrated with a body with a LED source, to illuminate the work surface, or a fabric border fixed to be positioned on one, two or three sides of the desk, to guarantee privacy and concentration both in residential spaces and in hospitality or business contexts. Customizable in finishes and accessories, Rohe is a versatile design project, that can be declined according to needs.
CUT DESK DESIGNED BY VICTOR VASILEV

The cutting of a rectangular ‘sheet’ and its tension produce a three-dimensional, rigorous surface: it is the worktop of the Cut desk, designed by Victor Vasilev for Bross, which, starting from the traditional folds ideally made on the paper, generates a functional furniture with a strong aesthetic identity. The incision defines two different areas, a lower one – where to place the PC, tablet or documents -, and a higher one, where to position objects and accessories. The different areas are therefore connected through a slight inclination of the top – available in different wood varieties, with natural finish or in black lacquered version -, whose edge is always black and marks the elements with precision, highlighting their geometric lines.
The black painted metal structure supports the worktop, whose empty space enables to position the power cables, and is equipped with a comfortable integrated footrest for maximum ergonomics and comfort. Offered in a single dimensional variant, Cut is ideal for serving smart working spaces at home or as a desk in a hotel room.
